Walter was united in marriage to Verlois Smith Bowling who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Melissa Kaye Bowling of London, Walter Bowling, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Lily, Kentucky, Ernest Bowling and wife Melissa Gail and Josh Bowling both of London, KY, One brother L. V. Bowling of London, KY, two sisters, Betty Sue Mosley of London, KY and Daisy Allen of Hamilton, Ohio, a special friend Gary Whitaker, four grandchildren plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by Vernus, Stanley, and Ernest Bowling and Geneva Blair. He was employed as a mechanic and was a member of the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. Walter “Cronkite” Bowling departed this life on Friday, October 10th, 2008, being 61 years, 1 month, and 10 days of age.
