I think I can show a direct line back to James T that is good enough for DNA... only problem will be getting my brother to do it unless I pay for it lol.. he is tight! We were lucky in a way that there is not than many generations in our family going back to James T... you probably already have this land deal, but here it is again just in case.. it shows your great something grandfather and mine... James T's son Isaac Lewis was my gg-grandfather.. his son Thaddeus 'Thad' was my g-grandfather .. his son Hiram was my grandfather - his son Burchell was my dad. My grandpa Hiram was born in 1862 and died when I was 11 years old. He and I were really close. I guess I was the only one who wanted to listen to his tales about growing up on Hurrican Creek in Leslie Co. The farm my mom bought after my dad died was land that had been in my family for now nearly 200 years. The old chimney stones for the log cabin my grandpa was born in lay in one of our fields just down the creek from our house. Grandpa and I would go for a walk around the hill and rest on those stones. He talked about life when he was a child, and could remember a bit of the civil war, his parents, grandparents and great grandparents, so I knew about Isaac and Thad as a child, but I didn't know who Isaac's father was until I started doing research and later found that land deal on the net. I had heard that he was but had no other confirmation. I'll see what else I have on here that stands for proof. Fay Perry County Deed Book A, page 186 Heirs of James Lewis Deed.
