Happy New Year! I finally had the time to do a search in all my databases of BEGLEY. *Thomas Begley, born in the 1730's, lived In PA, VA, NC & in Knox Co, KY His children: > I. Henry /Old Henry / Begley 1756 VA md (Daughter) Sizemore, a d/o George All Sizemore 1755 VA & Agnes / Aggie / Cornett / Shepherd. > II. William Begley 1779 TN-1852 md Winnie Sizemore , also a d/o George All Sizemore 1755 > > III. John Begley 1790 md 1st, in 1816, Rebecca Stewart, d/o John Stewart Sr. & Mary Arthur There are no Hiram Begley born as descent in 1824 from either Old HENRY or his brother WILLIAM. What is unknown by myself, I do not have a complete database on JOHN 1790, nor do I know of any genealogist that may have this research. It is possible the Hiram 1924 might be found as a descent that was in the Mexican War and lived in Covelo, Mendocino County, CA. My inclination is that DNA tests may be the only possible source for FOOTPRINTS that may lead to a Hiram 1824 birth in KY. If Not, then he may not be a descent down from Thomas Begley, born in the 1730's. > > > > > > > JOHN in CA > > > > > > > In a message dated 12/29/2008 6:10:52 P.M. I will look more as I get time. I'm trying to get the house in order for showing to a real estate salesperson next week. He came to California on a wagon train in 1850 or 1852 to mine gold in Union Town (about 3 miles from Colma, California). In 1850 he married to Mary Anne Norris (born 1829). They had three children: Granville, Johnathan, and Sarah. In the 1860's, Granville and Johnathan, left Union Town and went to Covelo. The two brothers married two sisters, Irene and Marcella, making double cousins of all of their children. Johnathan Begley I and Marcella Rouse had a son by the name of Walter. Marcella died when Walter was 2 and John died when Walter was 10. Walter grew to be a talented musician and a very good farmer. He was known for his good sense of humor. Those that knew him described him as an honest, upright man who always paid his debts. On March 17, 1912, Walter Begley married Artie Amelia Brush. They had five children, Lawrence, Johnny (John Seymour Begley II), Edna, Phillip, and Eugene. Walter Begley died in February 1978. John Seymour Begley II was my grandfather. ____________________________________ From: Cynthia Greaux (cgreaux) Subject: RE: [KYLESLIE] MYSTERY - HIRAM BEGLEY 1826 ____________________________________ At 05:05 PM 12/28/2008 -0800, Cynthia Greaux (cgreaux) wrote: Hello. My maiden name is Cynthia Ann Begley. I am researching my family history and found some postings from back in August 2006. My grandfather is John Seymour Begley of Covelo, California. Hiram Begley 1824 KY and Mary Anne Norris are my grandfathers great-grandparents. That is as far back as he had documented. If you have any information on them or their family history, I would be very interested. Thanks, Cynthia **************New year...new news. Be the first to know what is making headlines.
