Coreen Short was 63 years, 8 months, & 13 days old. Coreen was born at Hyden, KY., the daughter of the late Grant Short & Screnia Caldwell Short. Coreen was a homemaker & enjoyed attending church, yardwork, sewing, talking on the phone & spending time with family. She was affectionately referred to as " Nean Nean" by her nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews. Coreen was a member of the Dry Fork Holiness Church, Helton, KY., & was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. residing at Helton, KY., at the time of her death. Coreen was preceded in death by her parents: Grant Short & Screnia Caldwell Short, one niece: Tammy Louise Asher & one brother: Geurtly C. Short. Miss Coreen Short leaves the following relatives surviving: two loving & devoted sisters: Stella Short Asher & husband, Eugene, of Helton, KY., Eunice Short Brock & husband, Shelby, of Helton, KY., six nieces & nephews: Cheryl, Troy, Curtis, Joyce, Lottie, & Coreen, eleven great nieces & nephews: Troy Brandon, Meagan, Sara, Shelby David, Morgan, Rebecca, Presley, Tammy, Maci, Chris, & Neil, And a host of other treasured relatives and friends to mourn her death. The funeral for Miss Coreen Short conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Friday - January 30, 2009 at the Dry Fork Holiness Church, Helton, KY., with Rev. Camie "Bo" Caldwell & Rev. Roscoe Asher officiating. The interment in the "Honey Branch Cemetery", located at Helton, KY., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff.
