    1. [KYLESLIE] Williams in Wooton
    2. Beth Anderson
    3. Hello, I am looking for anyone who may know of this Williams family: Ed & Barbara (Melton) Williams--lived on Wooton Creek Rd in 1930's Williams children: Mollie--Robert--Dan--Monroe--Oscar--Orie--Becky Melton & Williams lived in Perry & Leslie Counties for many years so I am hoping someone out there may be related or remember this Williams family. Barbara Melton is the d/o David K. Melton & Dicey Engle (Ingle) I don't know the parents of Ed Williams. I believe Barbara died in mid 1940's--can't find exact death dates of either Ed or Barbara Williams. Hope someone out there can help me. Thank you so much in advance for any help or information. Beth

    1. [KYLESLIE] Leslie Co., KY - LEWIS DNA Volunteers are needed
    2. Recently a person of Leslie County descent has been DNA tested for the LEWIS DNA Project now ongoing. JAMES THEOPOLUS LEWIS 1735 Wales birth - 1825 Cutshin, KY death and burial, has only one known descent being claimed under LEWIS. (Several claim to be of other Lewis in Harlan County ancestry) Perhaps our list members can encourage a member of their family to support our known JAMES T. LEWIS genealogy, and can be placed in the proper Halpo Grouping. These LEWIS descents of the following Kentucky Counties are very much in need of male DNA volunteers: Clay, Leslie, Breathitt, Perry, Harlan, Laurel counties. Results of tests on record are: > _http://lewissurnamednaproject.com/test_results.htm_ (http://lewissurnamednaproject.com/test_results.htm) > > > SOURCE: _http://www.familytreedna.com/public/LEWISSurnameDNAProject/_ (http://www.familytreedna.com/public/LEWISSurnameDNAProject/) New 2007 Pricing Structure: Y-DNA 12 = $99 Y-DNA 25 = $148 Y-DNA 37 = $189 Y-DNA 67 = $269 Those seeking male and female results: Y-DNA 12 + mtDNA = $199 Y-DNA 37 + mtDNAPlus = $339 Y-DNA 67 + mtDNAPlus = $409 > > > Note: I have no financial gain or other financial interest in this DNA Project. Can anyone help post the deaths of anyone born in Leslie County, and you can see many of the births and mothers names on the sites listed herein and hosted by Elva Morgan. > SAMPLE of extracted individuals, including my own birth, (which was assisted by Mary Breckinridge and one of her midwives when the event happened.) 3. Ken, I compared the 1900 with the 1910 census and it appears that would be Jasper on the 1900 census with wife Amanda. On both census records, the first 5 children are identical in name. I know people used the same names but I don't think two families could have 5 kids all with the same name and ages! Hope this helps, Norma At 05:49 PM 8/16/2007 -0700, you wrote: >I have a copy of the 1900 Leslie County Census >compiled by Darlene Sizemore: >Hyden HH# 184 list Josph Morgan born Mar 1869 and >Amanda born Feb 1872 wife.
