    2. MEMORIAL OBITUARY - Great Great Grandson James (Rebel Jim) Lewis 1812 KY - 1869 Dennis, TX James O.B. "Dude" Newby Born - March 10, 1924 Texas - Died - October 21, 2008 Texas James Oscar Boyd "Dude" Newby was born March 10, 1924 in Young County, Texas to Franklin Herron "Ed" and Mary Effie Reed Newby. When James was 5 years old the Newby family moved to Hassell, New Mexico. Later moving from Hassell to Tucumcari, New Mexico. James graduating in 1943 from school in Tucumcari. Shortly after he enlisted in the US Army, sent to El Paso, Texas to serve there until WWII ended. In El Paso he met Ann Marston serving in the WACS, they were married September 1, 1945. After his discharge they moved to Ohio where Ann's parents lived. An opportunity brought them back to Tucumcari where James worked for the city. James re-enlisted into military service into the US Air Force, January of 1948. James O. B. "Dude" Newby Armed Service Records: US Army WWII El Paso, Texas --7 June 1943-17 March 1946. US Air Force--9 January 1948-Retired 31 October 1968. Stations of Service: Roswell, New Mexico. Otis AFB, Falmouth, Massachusetts. Brooks AFB, San Antonio, Texas. Security Services, Washington DC. Johnson AFB, Japan. Shoroi AFB, Japan. Kelly AFB, San Antonio, Texas. Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. Security Services, Frankfurt, Germany Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas . While stationed at Goodfellow Air Force base in Texas they built their farm home about 12 miles north east of San Angelo, Texas. Their farm life was a busy one raising calves, then feeding them on the bottle. James and son Jimmy were kept busy in the spring taking care of calves fields to be plowed and cared for. The Cattle and horses always need pasture. James loved horses. Ann passed away 2006 and James had his original horse when he moved off the farm and into San Angelo after Ann died. After Ann's death and James “Dude” Newby had moved to San Angelo, whereas his son Jimmy stayed on their farm. Survivors are two sons Jimmy Newby, San Angelo, Texas and Mark Newby (Deryl) of Paradise, Texas ; Grandsons: Daniel Newby and Michael Newby (Kendall), Scott Newby (Crystal) and Lane Newby; two granddaughters: Kelli Newby Smith (Clinton) and Kristi Newby Hicks (Chris); two great granddaughters: Bayja and Bailee ; one Sister Nina "Sug" Newby Fitzner (Verdian) of Palisade Colorado. “DUDE” will be missed by many nieces and nephews. “Dude” was preceded in death by Ann his wife on June 28, 2006, son Dan Newby passed away in 2003. His parents Franklin “Ed” Herron Newby and Mary Effie Reed Newby; one brother, Lewis; his Newby sisters, Beatrice deValera, Estellene Sills, Juanita Nix and Muriel Spears also preceded his death. Teddy Bailey Mr. "Big" Danny Lee Feltner born on October 7, 1946 departed this life on September 24, 2008 at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 17 days old. He was born at Butterfly, Kentucky the son of Edith Fields Feltner and the late Mose "Spud" Feltner, Jr. By occupation he was a heavy equipment operator for 25 years and was most recently employed by Leslie Resources. Danny Lee Feltner was a member of the Masonic Lodge #905 of Krypton, Kentucky and a 32nd Degree Shriner of Hillbilly Clan #31. Danny enjoyed fishing and cooking, and had been a life-long resident of Perry County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his father: Mose Feltner, Jr. and by one grandson: Matthew Douglas Davidson. He leaves surviving the following relatives: Mother: Edith Fields Feltner of Couchtown, KY; wife; Kimberly M. Feltner or Couchtown, KY; one son: Danny Lee "Spud" Feltner, Jr. of Couchtown, KY; one daughter: Tammy Carol Gayheart & William Lee of Dwarf, KY; brother: Kencil Feltner & Patricia of Couchtown, KY; two sisters: Maud Marie Baker of Couchtown, KY; Glenna Jean Colwell & Lyndon of Willard, KY; three grandchildren: Ashley Danielle Baker & Travis Scott Baker, Carolyn Denise Davidson, and Brandy Nicole Combs.
