The Clay County has a great collection of materials at their office, and many valuable books and pamphlets for sale. Their daughter, Sarah Jane Sheperd, was my gg grandmother. She was born in 1865 or 1871 (I have two different dates.) She married Leonard "Tip" Harris and they appear on the 1900 and 1910 Leslie County Census. She passed away in 1937 Harlan County and is buried in the Baker Cemetery in Leslie. Her death certificate says that she and both her parents were born in KY, but it doesn't say which county. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Thank you.

The Epp North was indeed Deputy Sheriff of Leslie County, Kentucky. My father Frank Napier was his half brother. Both Frank Napier and Epp North shared a mother, Mahala Sizemore, the d/o Russel Sizemore and Susan Couch, who first married Ezekiel Napier and had my father, then these 2 divorced and Mahala married John North and had I think either 7 or 9 children.
