    1. [KYLESLIE] DIXON - WOOTON
    2. Dear List members, It takes some effort to research genealogy, and if the list members we currently have continue to just read the emails posted and never respond with research they have obtained or can pass on to all of us, then it is a stagnate list. I will continue to ask you questions with research I have obtained or have in my personal databases, but with limits. The list should participate, but over the past year very few members respond to any data, or inquiries and those that have, are the ones who try to provide a census record or marriage record to guide us in the right directions. I am very grateful to those few list members. Now, In that light of asking for participation, once again I pose to the list another question and inquiry. In Leslie County we have a large history of pioneer families that have living descents. Among them is one outstanding family WOOTON. One such is a descent of Curtis (Curt) Wooton born 1875. Curtis Wooton married about 1900 Catherine Begley 1886-1922. Since in that time period there should be a marriage record in the Leslie County Court records, it seems to have never been researched. Catherine Begley was d/o of Rev. Felix Begley 1834-1912 and his 2nd wife, Fannie Martin 1850. My database shows (11) ELEVEN children of this marriage, including birth of Catherine Begley who would have been the fourth child born of this marriage. QUESTION: Can anyone provide research data of proven parents of Curtis (Curt) Wooton? It is a probable fact that perhaps no birth records existed then or now except among a Bible record of one of the parents. Claims are made that Curtis may have been son of Polly Jane Dixon of Asher's Branch, and Polly Jane Dixon is claimed to be daughter of "widow" Celia Cornett Wooton, who had been married to "Moccasin" Bill Wooton until his death. QUESTION: Is there any substantial documented proof of any relationship of Polly Jane Dixon - Wooton and Bill Dixon, or is this more folklore handed down in Leslie County to anyone willing to believe ???? > To assist anyone in helping, Catherine Begley is Granddaughter of HIRAM Begley 1802-1867 and Cynthia Allen 1817-1880, d/o George Allen & Cynthia Patten. These are ancestors in my LEWIS family of Leslie County. (Dr. John (Boss) Lewis family) > > > > LISTDAD JOHN in CA (born Hyden, KY)
