Dwelling 162-179 in the book is listed as a HENSLEY family. This is NOT CORRECT!! I just checked the microfilm and it is actually Finley WOOTON's family as follows: 1920 Leslie Co., KY Dwelling 162-179 WOOTON, Finley, 49, head, b. KY; parents b. KY . .Nancy, 38, wife, b. Finley Wooton was born 12 Jun 1872 and died 14 Apr 1939 in Perry County. Finley's wife was Nancy Melton born 21 Oct 1889. I don't have Finley with a second marriage? Finley was a brother to my great grandmother, Perninia Wooton. Hello Cousin. I have the ancestry of Robert 'Rob' Couch going back a long ways... he and I are 4C1R. Our common ancestor is James Couch/Nancy Little? I don't have anything on Rob other than his birth and death dates... do you know who he married? My great grandfather on my mothers side was Elihue Couch m. Mary Ann Burns. Elihue was s/o Thomas Couch/Elizabeth Campbell gs/o James Couch/Nancy Little? Some believe that James was a brother to the Martin below. I have him in my genealogy program like that as well, but I still have an open mind on it. Might be our James came from a Couch family in Va, rather than the North Carolina line. All the cousins and my mother and grandmother thought so. My great great great grandmother on my dads side was Phoebe Couch m. Isaac Lewis. Phoebe was d/o Martin Couch/Sarah Sally Hall and gd/o ole John Couch b. 1750/Elizabeth James Campbell. This is definately the North Carolina bunch. Hi Cousins: Please join this new list, it is to preserve the coal Camps, not only in Ky but throughout the United States, as you know many of our coal miners migrated to Ky in the early 1900s.They came from many parts of United States, and Europe. Most if not all the coal camps in America have shut their doors and the coal camps have virtually disappeared. This list is to preserver our heritage. If you, your parents, grandparents worked and lived in a coal camp, please document the history of your family, the name of the mines, name of coal camp, name of school, neighbors, teachers, classmates, company doctor, churches. traditions. They may tear the camps down but they can't erase memories embedded in our hearts. On this list we can discuss and document the if's ands and butts of coal camps. Please be nice and no flaming on list. On the _Kentucky Coal Miners _ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~kycoalmi/) site, scroll down and read the guest book entries.
