JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON GLENDA CARPENTER FROM THE SPRINGFIELD (OH) NEWS-SUN 10/11/09 Glenda Blankenship Carpenter, 73, McKee, KY, formerly of Springfield, OH passed away October 2, 2009 in Compassionate Care Center, Richmond, KY of heart failure. She was born in Louisa, KY to Wayne & Evelyn Blankenship. She married William "Cecil" Carpenter in October 1963. Together they operated the Sohio Station on the corner of Belmont & James Sts. for a number of years. Glenda also worked for Dairy Mart, Readmore Books & finally the Champaign County Nursing Home where she retired in 2001. Glenda had a soft spot for the elderly and gave unselfishly of her time to many throughout her life. During her time at the nursing home, her friendship and thoughtful deeds gave happiness to many of the residents. In short, Glenda was a giver. She was preceded in death by her parents & husband William. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Connie, grandson Thomas Nickells and 2 great grandchildren, Chase and Alexis. She will be greatly missed by so many whose lives she touched. A p! rivate burial was held at Vernon Asbury Cemetery, South Vienna, OH.
