Amos Bays, Sr. married a (2) Sarah Jordan. On birth records of their childen, she is listed with the maiden name, Sarah Prater. I have looked at the census records and have not been able to track her Jordan children in 1860 or 1870. On the 1860 census she, alone, is listed with 3 Bays children: Amos, Henry and Amanda J.. and no Jordan children with her. (Her 2nd husband Amos Bays was shot and killed in 1858), so he is not listed with her. I do not find Sarah Bays on the 1870 census, perhaps she married a 3rd time??
