My James married Sarah Jane Starkey and only had one son , my grandfather John Henry Ball. Sarah died shortly after her son's birth in 1881 in Greenup co. Ky. James never remarried as far as I have researched. He returned to Lawrence co and died in Fallsburg in 1914. My James was the s/o Eihue and Mary Ball. My side of the Balls came from Fairfax co.Va. and into Ky. I believe there was 4 sons and they all settled in the surrounding area. One in Pike co. Ky.,one in Carter co. Ky. One in Lawrence co. Ky. One in Wayne W.Va. I would say that your ggrandparents are related some how. The Ball family liked to use the same names for sons and cousins and brother. Will check out the Mullins site.
