Scarberry, was the daughter Valentine VanHoose and his 2nd wife, Diannah McDowell. Ledocia was the 5th of 8 children and born May 1883 (per the 1900 census) and married John on Aug. 24, 1899 in Lawrence County, Kentucky and died Sept. 4, 1943 in George's Creek, Lawrence County.
