Some family members believe that Hiram Pennington was the son of James Curtis who was first married to Sarah Fairchild and then to a Pennington. Whatever happened to James and wife #2 is a mystery but the children were then raised by the Penningtons. No proof as far as I have found. Maybe ideas to research?
