Hey group, how is everyone ? by the way happy thanksgiving to all. I am looking to see if they had death certificates back in 1800's? I am looking for the death certificate and the place of burial of my gr.gr.gr.gr.grandfather Pleasant Lewis Parker. I have not been able to find anything on death certificates this far back, nor have i been able to find where he and his wife Sarah(Dillard)Parker are buried.pleasant died March 14.1857. Is there any chance in finding a certificate on him and the place of burial ? Any help would be greatly appreciated....Lonnie Parker
Lonnie, KY didn't issue "official" death certificates before 1911. There are scattered records of births and deaths prior to that, which may help you, as one of the periods that is usually covered is 1852-1859. You'll generally find info on these births and deaths in either the County Court Clerk's office or through KDLA. These old records have also been microfilmed and are available like that.
