I am aware of a Paul Henson b abt 1788 NC who married Margaret 'Peggy' Smith on Aug 20, 1808 Clay Co KY (Bondsman, a John Henson). I think this John Henson is a brother of Paul's. The Henson family line of Wilkes/Ash Co NC settled early 1800's in Clay Co KY and they are connected by marriage to the following families; Smith, Rogers,Hollingsworth,Lewis,Boling/Bowling,Bates,Halsey, Reed, and many more that I don't know about. My gggrandfather George W Henson was b abt 1799 NC, but I have not been able to connect him to any 'proven' parents. I do know George W Henson married Anna Forbis/Forbish (daughter of William Forbis and Sarah McCammon, grandaughter of Rev War Vet John Forbis of Clay/Rockcastle/Laurel Co KY) on July 21, 1825 Martin Co KY. The McCammons were living in that area of Indiana at the time, and so were some Hensons who settled in the Indiana Territory (part of which became Martin/Harrison Co Indiana) after moving there from Randolph Co NC. I don't know if George W moved to Indiana with the Forbis/McCammon family of Clay Co KY and married Anna Forbis there, or if he was a Henson already living in Martin Co IN area and met Anna Forbis after she had moved there from Clay/Rockcastle Co KY with her Forbis/McCammon family. George and Anna Henson did move/return? to KY and George was found listed in the 1828 Laurel Co KY Tax List. George lived most of his life in Laurel/Jackson Co KY, except he moved to Livingston/Grundy Co MO with many Clay/Laurel Co residents abt 1837 ... see 1840 Livingston Co MO Census. George returned to Laurel KY and was listed in the 1847/48 Laurel Co KY tax list, this time along with a 'John Henson'. I would really like to know who this John Henson is??? Is this the John Henson, brother/bondsman of Paul Henson who married 'Peggy' Smith? Maybe George W Henson is a brother of both Paul and John Henson??? Any help, obviously is much needed from family researchers familiar with this particular area of Kentucky and of the families living there in the early 1800's. Thanks everyone for sharing. 'R.E.'
