Surnames: McFadden Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EBB.2ACE/1503.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: My connection with this family is my husband's grandfather was George Washington Hubbard and until his death would say he wasn't a Hubbard but a McFadden. I looked into what I could find and found that his grandmother, who was Lettie Gray, had to have had a child by a McFadden but later married a Hubbard and that is where that name came from. Many claim that the McFadden part didn't happen. Well, I don't know. I don't know anything else. Regardless, George W. Hubbard was b. in 1866 in Laurel County, Kentucky so he was probably correct about the McFadden being his rightful name.
