Jones, on 15th inst., Mr. John McPhetridge to Miss Matilda Brock. RUNAWAY MATCH Mack Stewart and Miss Lizzie Percifall, both of Knox county, Kentucky, eloped Saturday night for Tennessee, Attendants, Ransom St. John, Susan Jones. Mr. Stewart is toll gate keeper at Flat Lick and he has reached his goal and we hope to pay no more toll. Samuel Metcalf of Laurel County takes this method of notifying the public that his son SIDNEY METCALF, 14 years of age has left the home of his parents without their consent, and he hereby forbids any one to hire, employ or keep about his premises the said Sidney Metcalf. DECEMBER 24, 1875 Somerset Reporter, Ashley Owens passed through town, last Tuesday having under his protection A. J. Goff who was indicted at the last term of the Rockcastle Circuit Court for being implicated with his son in the murder of Dave Lunce, Goff stood an examining trial, and was acquitted but the grand jury found an indictment against him, and he left the country, and was found by Mr. Owens in Jamestown, Tenn. His son was convicted and sent to the penitentiary for a number of years. Mr. J. H. Stansberry and two of the Rev. Enos Allen's boys report that they were fired upon, by parties in the brush last Tuesday night, near Mr. Allen's. The balls struck close to them bur no damage done. The boys say that they want the attack to be made in the day time if it comes up again so that all parties can shoot to better advantage and with more certainty. Uncle Jack Jones our county Assessor, died last Tuesday morning, Uncle Jack lived his full three score and ten years and was one of the most popular citizens in the county. He had been for many years previous to his election to the office of Assessor, a Justice in Laurel county. Once represented Harlan county in the Kentucky Legislature. He was a consistent member of the London Star Lodge of I. O. G. T. His death was a matter of surprise to us, though he has been suffering for some time with a disease of the stomach. His bereaved family and relatives have the sympathy of many friends. On the 16th inst., at the residence of the brides father, Mr. Daniel Jones to Miss Rebecca Sparks, by J. C. Floyd Attendants: J.
