Dear List! The pic is in very bad shape and it's in jpeg. If this is the Hughes home (homestead) in Pittsburg, Laurel Co. KY, this would be after 1880! There are many folks in this picture and i don't recognize anyone----one woman does resemble Grandma Hughes (Jane Baxter HUGHES (Wales--KY), but if this is Jane Baxter Hughes, the picture was taken much later than 1880 because she appears older. Joseph and Jane Hughes children: William Hughes (Rachel Smith), Elizabeth A. Hughes (Ben Clark), Mary Hughes (Bradley Moore), Joseph L.(E.?) Hughes (unknown)---Joseph Hughes of Latonia, KY was killed in L&N RR accident 1933. If anyone would like to see this pic, please let me know... can email to you or snail mail a xrox copy of it to you. Hoping that these folks can be ID'd! The surnames connected to my Hughes are: CLARK, SMITH, MOORE, BAXTER, BURTON... Other Welsh families who came to Pittsburgh, KY ca 1880 to work for the Baxters in the Victoria Coal Company are: Sheedy, Cornell/Cornett, etc... some of these families are prob related to the Hughes, Baxters and may be in this pic.
