    3. Hi, Jeanne, There was a pretty substantial immigration of Swiss into Laurel County in the decade of 1880-1890. I think the primary focus of settlement was East Bernstadt. There is a chapter on it in Thomas Clark's "A History of Laurel County" and I think there's a whole book on it over at the Covington, KY library. I'm in Cincinnati & live near the Waldvogel viaduct (aka the 6th street viaduct). In Cincinnati there are still enough German speakers to have some of them pronounce it the German way (which makes it sound like Vahldfogle). Pat H. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JEANNE M.
