My grt grandfather was William CUNDIFF b. 8-25-1855. 1st marriage was to Louisa BALES on 6-8-1875 in Rockcastle Co., KY. They had 2 sons (Daniel born 1877 in Livingston, KY and Alva born 1878 in Livingston, KY). 2nd marriage to my Grt Grandmother Orlena BLACK on 12-4-1889 in Laurel Co., KY. They had the following children: Minerva, Mattie, James, Delbert, Lula B., Brinco, and Mary "Bitha". My Grt Grandfather William died 3-26-1905..........there is an entry of his death in The Mountain Echo Excerpts. After his death my Grt Grandmother remarried..........I have not been able to find out who she married. She is listed as a widow on the 1910 Laurel Co., KY Census with the children. I know she remarried after his death but unsure when and to whom. Possibly sometime between his death 1905 and 1910 and took back her name after the husband ran out on her because she became pregnant. Or if she married after the 1910 census was taken. From my research I determine that she died within a few years of the 1910 census. If anyone has any research material that contains an index I'd appreciate it if you could see if there are any of the following listed in these counties. William CUNDIFF b. 8-25-1855 in Clay Co, KY d. 3-26-1905 in Laurel Co., KY near Altamont. Louisa BALES Cundiff b. April ? 1855 d. Jan. ? 1934...remarried to a SMITH Daniel CUNDIFF b. 1877 in Livingston, KY Alva CUNDIFF b. 1878 in Livingston, KY Orlena BLACK Cundiff b. 3-20-1872 Parents John Titus & Martha Black died sometime after the 1910 census....I'm sure within the next couple years Minerva CUNDIFF b. 1-10-1891 Mattie CUNDIFF b. 9-4-1892 James CUNDIFF b. 7-1-1894.....I have a memorial card that is possibly from his funeral that is from Minerva's estate and it notes his last name spelt COMDUF died 1-14-1912 but I'm unsure if this is him. Delbert CUNDIFF....my Grandfather b. 11-13-1896....moved to Illinois when he was 14 Lula B. CUNDIFF b. 11-12-1898 Brinco CUNDIFF b. 3-24-1901 d. 3-19-1902 in Laurel Co., KY Mary "Bitha" B. CUNDIFF b. 7-31-1902 or 1903 The family home for William and Orlena was in Laurel Co., KY. Any help in my research will be greatly appreciated. I work on this years back but came to a point where I wasn't finding any of the information I was needing and became frustrated and just gave up.
