I now have documentation that Harriet Dixon (Dickson) is my gg-grandmother. I just received copies of the application for pension file by Harriet Dixon (Dickson) Burns after the death of her husband Robert 'Cody' Burns. (I am still waiting for the pension file filed by Elizabeth (Brewer) Hoskins for my gg-grandfather Silas Hoskins.) There are notarized Depositions included in these records and there are several, including one by my gg-grandfather Silas Hoskins. Silas and Harriet never married but had 2 children together, my g-grandfather Robert Hoskins (married Lucy McCowan) and Leander Hoskins (married Lucinda Hurley). Robert & Leander Hoskins are shown on the 1880 Census living with their father Silas Hoskins and both sons are shown with the surname 'Dixon'. In the deposition from Silas Hoskins, he raised Robert & Leander Hoskins just after childbirth. It mentions a Bible Record but it was not included in the documentation. Harriet Dixon Burns died abt. Aug 19, 1902 and on August 20, 1903, she was buried in the Bowlin Farm Cemetery which is an 'adjoining the farm that Silas Hoskins lived in Greenmount, Laurel County, KY. My gg-grandfather Silas & my g-grandfather Robert Hoskins are buried in the Hoskins Cemetery near Greenmount. Does anyone on the list have a Laurel County Cemetery book that includes the Bowlin Farm Graveyard in or near Greenmount? I would be interested in knowing if there are any other Hoskins or Burns buried there. I have a list of those buried in the Hoskins Cemetery at: http://www.pas01.com/hoskins%20cemetery.htm Thanks for any info! Patti Smith, Delaware, Ohio -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
