    1. Nancy Moore and Joseph Pruitt
    2. I have reason to believe that Nancy was the daughter of Lemuel Moore (b. 1772 VA). Here's what I have on him: 1810 Census - Rutherford, NC Lemuel Moore Males: 3 (age 0-10) - Alanson, Ransom & Lemuel 1 (age 16-26) - ?? (was not there in 1800 - he may be a brother or nephew) 1 (26-45) - Lemuel Sr. Females: 2 (age 0-10) - Winniford & Nancy 3 (age 10-16) - Cynthia, Margaret and ?? 1 (age 26-45) - Margaret 1820 census - Rutherford Co, NC Lemuel Moore Males: 3 (age 0-10) - Lazarus, Lemuel and ?? 1 (age 10-16) - Ransom 1 (18-26) - Alanson 1 (45+) - Lemuel Sr. Females: 1 (age 10-16) - ?? 2 (16-26) - Winniford & Nancy 1 (45+) - Margaret 1830 census More, Lemuel Unknown Townships, Rutherford, NC 1830 Page 495 Males: 2 (10-15) - James and ? 1 (15-20) - Isaac 1 (20-30) - Lemuel Jr. 1 (age 60-70) - Lemuel Females: 1 (15-20) - ?? 1 (50-60) - Margaret or Ann More, Ransom Unknown Townships, Rutherford, NC 1830 Page 475 Males: 2001 (age 15-20) - he should be older Females: 01001 More, James Unknown Townships, Rutherford, NC 1830 Page 499 Males: 020001 (age 30-40) Females: 450001 1840 Census - Laurel Co KY Lemuel Moore Males: 0 0 0 2(15-20) 0 0 0 0 1(60-70) Females: 1(0-5) 0 0 0 1(20-30) 2(30-40) 0 1(50-60) (younger females are probably Mary, Winniford and Nancy Moore) 1850 Laurel Co KY (HH #608) PG 45 Lemuel Moore, 78, VA Ann, 66, TN James, 24, TN ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1850 Lemuel Moore is living in Laurel Co KY - next door Hezekiah Smallwood Jr., age 21, KY, Farm Laborer living with Joseph and Nancy Pruitt family, next door is Nancy Forbes, age 19. On the other side is Lemuel Moore, 78, Ann Moore, 66, and James Moore, 24. Next to the Moores are William and Winifred Broughton and their family These families are inter-connected. Winniford Moore, whom I believe was Nancy's sister, married Wm. Broughton. Wm. Broughton's sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" Broughton, married Hezekiah Smallwood Sr. Lemuel's daughter, Mary Margaret Moore, married Elisha Smallwood, son of Hezekiah Smallwood Sr. and Betsy Broughton. Mary was also born in TN. Nancy Forbes married Hezekiah Smallwood Jr. - son of Hezekiah Smallwood Sr and Betsy Broughton. Lemuel was in Rutherford, NC before going to Laurel, KY. The Moores of Rutherford, NC went back and forth a lot between there and Giles Co, TN. I believe the James Moore (age 24) living with him in 1850 is his grandson - possibly the son of Lemuel's son James born 1805 who disappears before 1850. Anyway, the James Moore who is living with him in 1850 married Mrs. Mary Reynolds Feb 9, 1854 in Rockcastle, KY. They had the following children: James K (1854), Lemuel (1856), Altamina (1858) and Alexander (1860). More information is available about this family at the following web address: http://bransoncook.systemaxonline.com/gedcoms/rich_moore/index.htm Use caution because a lot of this information was surmised only from census records - use it as a guide Thanks, Sandra Branson Young

    3. Thanks Sandra. I also have an Ann Moore who married Richard E. Booker... they were the parents of Joseph Prewitt's first wife Mary Frances Booker. Both Joseph Prewitt and Mary Frances Booker were born in VA. I'll check the website, possibly there is a connection between Ann Moore Booker and Lemuel also. 3. I found something interesting in your research. I am showing a 'Mary Reynolds' married Isaac Forbis/Faubus/etc on Nov 17, 1854 in Schuyler County, MO. Isaac is a brother to Nancy Forbis/Faubus/etc who married Hezekiah Smallwood Jr on Jan 25, 1849 Laurel Co KY ... marriage performed by Hiram Casteel and witnessed by Isaac Forbes. Isaac and Nancy are children of Hugh S.Forbis/Faubus/etc and Francis 'Fanny' Milborn/Milburn who married Oct 26, 1831 Laurel Co KY. Curious about the 'Mrs' Mary Reynolds that married Feb 09, 1854 Rockcastle Co KY. Thanks for sharing. By the way, my gggrandfather George W Henson b abt 1799 NC (of 1828/47 Laurel Co KY Tax List and 1850 Laurel Co KY Census in household of John Drew and Ibbby), married into the Forbis family, through his wife Anna Forbis, daughter of William Forbis of Laurel Co KY, grandaughter of Rev War Vet John Forbis who settled and lived out his life in Laurel Co KY. Please note that many of the Forbis/Forbus/Faubus/etc spellings are of the same family line with the common root name being (Forbes). Thanks for your help and sharing.
