He was listed as 10 years old, but on a family tree I have his birth date is August 1, 1852. I do not have any further information on him. Hi, In research of my Barrett family, William Barrett b.1775 in TN and d. in Laurel County Ky in 1860, I have determined that his children were Thomas b.1800, Henry b. 1801, John Jackson Barrett b. 1807 in Buncombe Co NC. m. Malinda Arrowood. John and Malinda were the parents of Sterling Tucker Barrett b.1847 in Yancy County NC. I show he married Martisha Ann Waddle b. 1850 in Buncombe County NC, in 1874, in Yancy County NC.Their children were Melessa b. 1874 NC, Malenda b. 1876 NC, Alta b. 1880 in Laurel County KY, d .1925, Rilda b. 1884 in Laurel County Ky and Angus b. 1887 also in Laurel County KY. William's (1775) last child was Nancy b. abt 1813 in NC. d. 1860 in Clay County KY. She married Robert Hensley b. abt 1810 at Big Creek Clay County KY.d. 1899 and is buried at Hector, Clay County. Nancy and Robert are my gg grandparents. I hope some of this will be a help to you, but it would appear that Sterling was still in NC in 1869.
