Hi Joyce, this is Betty and Jasper Wages again There is a person by the name of Billy that we need help with. Billy is Jasper's nephew. That is about all we know about him. Jasper's Mother died when Jasper was 29 months old and the Children was separated. I can tell you who Billy's Mother was. Her name was Oleda Wages. Jasper was borned in Berry, Ky. Harrison County and Jasper assumes that Oleda was to. We were told that she was adopted by a Calvin and Grace King from Pendleton County, Ky. Jasper saw Oleda in Clovis, California in 1943. Jasper was in the Service. Billy, her Son was about 3 or 4 at that time at least that is what Jasper thinks. Oleda was with a William Goins so Jasper assumes that Billy's last name would be Goins. We heard that Oleda died in 1982. Nothing for sure here. Jasper is 78 years old and very ill and would love to see this Nephew if he is still living. Any information would be greatly appreciated. There is a lot of confusion on the Mary Henson/Mary Daniel Duncill thing. My grandmother always said her grandmother was Mary Henson, her birth year being 1830. Madison and Mary had my g g grandmother, Mary House in April of 1853. When I looked at the 1880 Census, Madison and "Polly" are listed in Pigeon Roost, Clay County, KY. Madison is 60 and Polly is 50. That would be 1819/20 for him and 1829/30 for her for a birthdate. My grandmother, Mary, is listed as 25 years old, which would be correct. It also lists my grandmother's brothers, Perry, Sherman, and another one that I can't remember off the top of my head. Mary Daniel Duncill was born in 1824, so that can't be the Polly listed on the 1880 census. Mary Henson could not have died in childbirth prior to 1839, as she was born in 1830 and would only be 9 or 10! I'm wondering if Mary Daniel Duncil was married to him first and then Mary Henson?? Was there children with both of them and he was married to Mary Daniel Duncil??? To whom was your Sherman House married? I have a Sherman b. 1866 who around 1802 married Elvira Bowling but I believe he may have been too young to be your Sherman. They are both buried at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Elvira was my grandfather's sister. They are on the 1900 US Census. My brother said they raised a boy but he had never heard of their raising girls. Perhaps it was before the boy came to live with them. Do you know when the girls were taken to them? That is what I have been trying to discover. I don't know much about that side of the family but they are buried in the cemetery located just past the main part of E. Bernstadt on Rt. 490. Their daughter Dora married Cornelius (Kernel) Stewart and they are buried there as well. Dora was my grandfather John's sister and Cornelius was my grandmother Fannie Jane Stewart's brother. I have somewhat of a handle on the Simpson's but not the Moore's. I am very new to geneaology so any suggestions would be appreciated.
