I don't show a Sally Skinner as a wife of William Hamilton Tincher. I'm showing the children you mentioned as being children of William Hamilton Tincher and Mary Polly Barker. I show 15 children for them: Elias Barker Tincher (md Rebecca Ashcraft), William H. (md Matilda Bowman), George (md Jane Percifield), Nancy (md Thomas McQueen), An Unknown Child, Isabelle (md Samuel McQueen), Martin (md Elizabeth Peacock), Joseph (md Esther Shelton), Mary, James M., Robert, Thomas, Jackson, Elizabeth and Greenberry. I also have Joseph and Polly as children for W.H. and Hannah Henson. The information I have came from the book "The Tincher Tribe". I can double check it (not saying that everything in it is totally accurate or that it isn't). I also have that W.H. and Mary Polly Barker were married 4 Feb 1796 in Madison Co., KY. > Well that is interesting about Joseph ... Thanks Roaten. In looking back through some things, I did find a note that William Hamilton Tincher and Hannah Henson had a son Joseph and a daughter Polly. Apparently when Joseph died "Hamilton" Tincher was the caregiver of Joseph's children. Gandy, when I lived in East Bernstadt there was a Bailey Stewart that worked for Kidd Bros Grocery. He went into service in WW11 and I think he was killed. Someone said he was a cousin to your Dad. Parilee Robinson Moore was our mothers' cousin, she lived around East Bernstadt all of her life, and is buried along with her husband William Moore at the Casteel Cemetery. Scott Moore also buried there is their son. The Casteel Cemetery is the one you mentioned that is just north of E. B. on 490. When I lived there as a child 490 was then U S # 25 the main drag. We left there when I was 12 years old in 1945. Frances Howard Hickey Roane Co. TN

... my gggrandfather George W Henson b abt 1799 NC married Anna Forbis (on marriage paper it was spelled Forbish) on July 21, 1825 Martin Co IN. Anna's parents were William Forbis (son of Rev War Vet John Forbis of Laurel Co KY) and Sarah McCammon (daughter of William McCammon and Anna Cathers of Woodruff/Clay and Laurel Co KY). Anna Cathers is a sister of Rev War Vet Edward 'Ned' Cathers of Laurel Co KY. George W and Anna were in/returned to? Laurel Co KY per 1828 Laurel Co KY Tax List. They lived in Laurel Co many years and about 1837 they, and 'many' Laurel Co friends/family moved, wagon train, to and settled in the Livingston/Grundy Co MO area (see 1840 Livingston/1850 Grundy Co MO Census for many Laurel Co people). George W and others returned to Laurel Co KY mid 1800's and George W Henson, and a John Henson, was found in the 1847/48 Laurel Co KY Tax Lists and in the 1850 Laurel Co Census in the household of John Drew and 'Ibby'. Ibby is thought to be a McQueen/Mo! ore daughter. Rev John Drew is said by his descendants to be of American Indian heritage (Cherokee). George W Henson sold his 150 acres in Laurel/Jackson Co Ky and moved from Jackson Co KY by 1859 (sold his last 50 acres in Jackson Co KY to a John Evans) showing up in the 1860 Webster Co MO Census and later in the 1870 Maries Co MO Census and finally in the 1880 Logan Co AR Census where he lived out his life around Paris, Logan Co, AR. This is a quick history, but you never know if you might run into George W or his associated family members; Elkins, Reams, McCammon, Forbis/Etc, Metcalf, Black, Inman, Jackson, Rogers, Burton, Masters, McQueen, Evans .... I maintain a very large data-base of research information/names on 'many families' associated somehow with George W Henson. Thanks for sharing. 'R.E.' I just visited you site. What wonderful work! I tried to sign your guest book but it is full. My family is buried in a church yard in NW Georgia. There are stones that desperately need repair and there is a huge section where there are graves but no markers. A cousin tells me that is where the slaves/indians/non church members were buried. I would like information on how to document the location of unmarked graves. You can tell where some graves are, as they are slightly sunken. Is there a way to tell if there is a grave below when the ground above doesn't appear to be a grave. A previous post about cemetery hill suggested that they 'used infrared' during restoration to help document the locations of graves. ----- Original Message Follows ----- From: "Mark Davis" To: KYLAUREL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [KYLAUREL-L] Restoration of 13th St(Breastworks/City) Cemetery Date: Sun, 23 Jan 2005 15:03:00 -0600 > I was at London,KY yesterday taking "before" documentation > photos of the headstones at 13th St(Breastworks/City > Cemetery). > > Helen Wildermuth,(Stonehugger Cemetery Restoration) and me > ,Mark Davis,(Stone Saver Cemetery Restoration) will be the > principal restorationists of all the stones.
