Lainey, The documentation will include "before" photos,"after' photos, and a survey sheet of every stone restored. The info will include the condition of the stone, repairs made, dimensions of the stone, type of stone(marble, granite, etc), the complete inscription and epitaph, and any additional info that we feel is necessary. We will have 2 sets of books...One goes to the funding agency, and one we keep for ourselves. Usually we correct about 10-20% of the current listings because the stones are so much more readable after restoration and cleaning. The current stone count is around 160,with about 100 fieldstone markers and about 100 unmarked graves. The archaelogy GPR report will define the disturbed dirt strata and show up as a possible burial but will not determine if an actual burial is present(ex: reinterred CW soldiers that were later buried at Camp Nelson Natl Cemetery) Mark Davis Stone Saver ----- Original Message ----- From: <sewnsews@mail.rose.net> To: <KYLAUREL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 26, 2005 7:25 AM Subject: Re: [KYLAUREL-L] Restoration of 13th St(Breastworks/City) Cemetery > Is this cemetery also known as Cemetery Hill? Is this cemetery also known as Cemetery Hill? If so, my gg grandfather William Blevins (and possibly other Blevins relatives--Luke, Prudence, Lily/Lillie/Lillian George Washington, Martha--are buried there) I have William's death certificate with his birth/death dates, which migth be fading from his headstone (I doubt it though as he as only been dead about 70 years). As you are working on the stones in the cemetery, and run across markers you are having trouble reading, maybe you could post what you have here. Someone on the list, might recognize the bits of info and be able to help you, and at the same time you might have helped them find the grave of someone they are looking for. He or his son reportedly had a son named Anderson. My Darling Jones (b. 11 Oct 1815 in NC, d. 1 Oct 1907 in Weakley Co, TN) also had a son named William Harrison Jones and a cousin named Anderson Jones. Was the Laurel County Darling born in SC or NC? Any info on this family might establish a connection between the Darlings and thus help me to discover the county of origin of my own Darling Jones.

I now have documentation that Harriet Dixon (Dickson) is my gg-grandmother. I just received copies of the application for pension file by Harriet Dixon (Dickson) Burns after the death of her husband Robert 'Cody' Burns. (I am still waiting for the pension file filed by Elizabeth (Brewer) Hoskins for my gg-grandfather Silas Hoskins.) There are notarized Depositions included in these records and there are several, including one by my gg-grandfather Silas Hoskins. Silas and Harriet never married but had 2 children together, my g-grandfather Robert Hoskins (married Lucy McCowan) and Leander Hoskins (married Lucinda Hurley). Robert & Leander Hoskins are shown on the 1880 Census living with their father Silas Hoskins and both sons are shown with the surname 'Dixon'. In the deposition from Silas Hoskins, he raised Robert & Leander Hoskins just after childbirth. It mentions a Bible Record but it was not included in the documentation. Harriet Dixon Burns died abt. Aug 19, 1902 and on August 20, 1903, she was buried in the Bowlin Farm Cemetery which is an 'adjoining the farm that Silas Hoskins lived in Greenmount, Laurel County, KY. My gg-grandfather Silas & my g-grandfather Robert Hoskins are buried in the Hoskins Cemetery near Greenmount. Does anyone on the list have a Laurel County Cemetery book that includes the Bowlin Farm Graveyard in or near Greenmount? I would be interested in knowing if there are any other Hoskins or Burns buried there. I do have that information... with the exception as the marriage date I have doesn't match. I have that Matilda Bowman and William Hamilton Tincher Jr married on 6 Dec 1823 in Clay Co. I did not have a marriage date or location for Rev. Thomas Bowman and Mary Polly Moore. Again, most of the information I have came from the book... and I can not say that I verified the information myself. I have seen errors in the book, with names and such. I definitely do want to get the correct information, if possible. Thanks for taking the time to let me know the differences we show.
