Hi John, Yes indeed, I am the coordinator of Laurel county also. I have Monroe county as well. All of the counties have family ties and will be getting more attention now that I am doing research all the time and no longer working for anybody but myself. Also, just in case any of you have my address in your books at earthlink.net, that address is no longer valid. I am in the process of updating pages wherever that address is. You can always check the register for the latest address, which is pasttracker@sbcglobal.net Warm Regards, Katy Hestand Professional Genealogist www.past-trackers.com USGenWeb Coordinator AHGP Coordinator -----Original Message----- From: John Moore [mailto:lead5alpha@comcast.net] Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2005 11:12 AM To: KYLAUREL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KYLAUREL-L] troubling Katy, Are you maintaining the Laurel County website at url: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kylaurel/. Olan, I have found the pension file of Benjamil F. Delph in my files. Many years ago someone wrote me about him. As my lette rs have been sent to the Special Collecti ons of the Berea College Library, I can`t tell who wrote me. He was in Company E, 7 th Kentucky Infanry. enrolled Aug 19, 1861 Mustered out October, 5, 1864, As he lved and died at Livingston he was , most likely, buried in the Red Hill Cemetery. I have been there a few times. My grand uncle, Theophilus Pigg is buried there.ome back to these parts, contact me and I will take you to the cemetery.. Ferby, Have you gotten Alvin Reedys pension file from the National Archives? If you request the entire file you might learn where h e is buried It might cost you some. I paid $65.00 for my grandfather`s. You can obtain a memorial stone and place it in any cemetery if you do not know where he is buried.. I haven`t tried this but I under stand it can be done. Do you know in which unit he served? If you don`t I can help you. JESS WILSON ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lester A. My son is the Graves Registration person for the local SUV Camp and has contact with the National SUV Graves Registration person, I will see if I can get his email address and send it to you. I am pretty sure that the 26th KY Inf was a Union Troop. Olan
Ferby, Guess I would check the local Library and Historical Soc first. Then move on to the local SUV and SCV camps to see if they have CW burial listings. Then try to find where his family is buried....Father,Mother,Brother,Sister,Children The 1880 Cencus didnt list him in Laurel Co... He was listed as "sick in hospital" in Nashville,TN on 12/31/1864.He was drafted at London,KY on 9/20/1864 as a Private in the 26th KY Inf, Co K. I too have a Darling Jones but his birth is was in 1809/1810 in South Carolina. He too had a son named William Harrison. My date of birth comes from the 1850 Laurel County Census which lists his age at 40 years. But then in the 1860 Census his age is 51 years.
