    3. Hi, Jeanne, There was a pretty substantial immigration of Swiss into Laurel County in the decade of 1880-1890. I think the primary focus of settlement was East Bernstadt. There is a chapter on it in Thomas Clark's "A History of Laurel County" and I think there's a whole book on it over at the Covington, KY library. I'm in Cincinnati & live near the Waldvogel viaduct (aka the 6th street viaduct). In Cincinnati there are still enough German speakers to have some of them pronounce it the German way (which makes it sound like Vahldfogle). Pat H. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JEANNE M. 3. Hi, I am researching my father's ancestors. My great great grandfather, Johan (Johannes, John) Waldvogel lived and owned property in Laurel Co. at the time of his July 21, 1906, handwritten and witnessed will. At that time, his second wife, Gertrude Minnie Waldvogel, was living, as were his children: Jacob Waldvogel (my great grandfather) Wilhelmina Waldvogel Lots Christina Waldvogel Behler Gottlieb Waldvogel, Administrator of Will Conrad Waldvogel and Louisa Witmer nee Allemand ---these last 3 maybe children of the second marriage with Gertrude, or children she had from a prior marriage. The property John (aka Johan) Waldvogel owned in 1906 was "on the waters of Little Laurel Creek". I don't know what the nearest town would have been. John was born in 1855 in Switzerland. The neighboring property owners in 1906 were: H.H. Southard; James Parsley; Mat George and Jarvis Dees. Witnesses to the signing of the will were A. J. Huff and H. H. Southard the Deputy Co. Clerk was William L. Bryant, Ira J. Davidson C.L.C.C. I have not been able to locate information on any of these family members. Cemeterys, burial records, or if the married daughters were living in the county as well. Johan (JOHN) was married to Elizabeth Keller in Switzerland prior to their immigration around 1866...not sure if they first came to Kentucky. Any assistance on Kentucky records would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jeanne L.

    3. Maxine that is correct. Thank you so much. I really appreciate this. I have visited a lot of the grave sites and taken pictures. They really help me keep things in order. I know some people who live in Jackson County that can probably take me there. I also have a county map and can look for it. I just couldn't find the location of the cemetery. Thanks again you are a big help. There is also a Mount Stewart 1901-1949. Another one is Johnny Stewart with no dates. This is in the Jackson County Cemeteries 1858-1995 book. I do not live in Jackson County, so perhaps someone there can tell you where Mildred Road and the church are located. Hope this is helpful. 3. I was told that my Great Grandparents Mount and Betty Ann Stewart were buried in Jackson, County in the Neeley/Moore/Sparkman Cemetery. I have done look-ups and asked several people but no one seems to know where this cemetery is located. Possibly it goes by a different name. I have no way of knowing. I would like to visit these graves. Would anyone be able to help me locate this cemetery? I would appreciate anything anyone may be able to provide. Glenda
