Mr. Richard MATTHEWS who has inventoried literally hundreds and hundreds of cemeteries in Bell Co., KY is a HAMMONDS/HAMMONS descendant. I believe you can locate his e-mail address from the Bell Co. main webpage link. Sorry I cannot give it to you directly. He may have some information for you. I have about 10 James HAMMONS in my data base but have no specific information on your James W. b. abt. 1823. With regard, however, to Lucinda Ann ABNER (you state was born abt. 1828 in Knox Co.), that information may not be correct. I checked through the 1810 to and including the 1840 Knox Co. census records. There were no ABNER families there. I also looked at Marriage Book A for Knox Co. and found no males or females marrying in Knox Co. from just past 1800 through 1850. On the Clay Co. 1810 Fed. Census, there was one ABNER listed as Elisha ABNER. Under the early marriages in Clay Co., I found these: ABNER, Enoch to Anna PRICE on Jan. 18, 1822 ABNER, Monroe to Aggy BOWLIN on March 23, 1813 ABNER, Elisha to Jennie BAKER on June 2, 1827 ABNER, Minion to Lucinda BENGE on Oct. 7, 1829 ABNER, John to Millie NOBLE on Oct. 7, 1829 Simply from a census and marriage record standpoint, she could more easily have been born in Clay Co., KY. Good luck to you in furthering your research. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA
