Yount, 81, Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, September 4, 2002 at the Williamsburg Nursing Home. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Darlene Yount and Earl of Williamsburg and Rose Lee Yount and Donald Neal of Williamsburg; three sons, Lowell Millard Mullins of LaFollette, Tennessee, Gary Wayne "Butch" Yount and wife, Marnell of Williamsburg and John Yount Jr. and wife, Juanita of Williamsburg; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Owens and wife, June of Baltimore, Maryland; as well as a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 7 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Carpenter and Rev. Wilbur Huddleston officiating. Burial was in the Hackler Cemetery at Mt. Ash. Croley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Travis Lee Kinder, 17, Tackett Creek Road, Williamsburg, passed away Monday morning, September 2, 2002 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was a member of the Mountain Ash Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Walter Lee Kinder and Frankie Lynn Vanderpool Kinder of Williamsburg; two brothers, Mike Kinder and wife, Regina of Williamsburg and Jason Kinder and wife, Brandi of Williamsburg; his grandmother, Nancy Vanderpool of Williamsburg; two nieces, Destiny Skyler Renae Kinder and Brianna Nicole Kinder, both of Williamsburg; aunts and uncles, Mary Jo Jones and Jerry Jones, Vicki Perkins and Rick, Judy Baker and Eddie, Loretta Perkins and Wayne, Rebecca Luntsford and Jimmy, Jimmy Robin Vanderpool, William Vanderpool, Leland A. Kinder and Lisa and Okie Lee and Marlyn Kinder; in addition to a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 5 at the Mt. Ash Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Carpenter and Rev. Billy Woodward officiating. Burial was in the Kinder Family Cemetery. Croley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Audie Crowley, 79, Corbin, formerly of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away Friday morning, August 30, 2002 at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington. He is survived by his wife, Betty June Stansberry Crowley of Corbin; three daughters, Sharon Patterson and husband, Anthony of London, Maggie Jean Creech of Corbin, and Mary Bunch and husband, Jesse Jr. of Clinton, Tennessee; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Leathel (Dude) Bunch of Clinton, Tennessee; one brother, Estell Crowley of Lexington; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Crowley of Clinton, Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held Monday, September 2 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Hale officiating. Burial was in the Bark Camp Cemetery. Crook Kulp, 44, Griffin, Georgia, formerly of Corbin, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2002 at the Grady Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an accident. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh T. and Lela Philpot Crook; and her brother, Vernon Wesley Crook of Corbin. Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Kulp Sr. of Griffin, Georgia; sons, Wesley Chandler and Ben Kulp of Griffin; a sister, Theresa Sears of Louisville; a brother and sister-in-law, Dallas and Vikki Crook of Corbin; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Laura, and Ryan Crook, Kendra and Kristen Sears; and aunts and uncles, Joyce Fox, Bill and Chola Furrow, and Charles and Opal Ramsey, all of Louisville. A funeral was held on Saturday, September 7 at the Moody Funeral Home in Zebulon, Georgia with Rev. Charles Robert Moore officiating. Graveside services were held Monday, September 9 at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 878, Zebulon, GA 30295. O'Neil Funeral Home assisted with local arrangements. Edward H. Meadors, 70, Longbottom Road, Williamsburg, passed away Monday morning, September 2, 2002 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 3167. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Denise Meadors of Longbottom Road, Williamsburg; one daughter, Carol Denise Moore and husband, William of Longbottom Road, Williamsburg; three sons, Michael Wayne Meadors and wife, Francis of Batavia, Ohio, Edward Allen Meadors and wife, Kandy of Mt. Carmal, Ohio, and Donald Meadors and wife, Paula of Pinnellas Park, Florida; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Meadors of Longbottom Road, Williamsburg; one sister, Jean Meadows of the Piney Grove Community, Williamsburg; also several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 4 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Manuel Meadors and Rev. Bill Meadors officiating. Waymon Lambdin, 19, Rockholds, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the Jellico Community Hospital in Jellico, Tennessee. He was a 2001 graduate of Whitley County High School. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Wanda Thacker and Paul Thacker of Rockholds; his father, Robert (R.D.) Lambdin of Williamsburg; four sisters, Trish Thacker of Rockholds, Mary Powers and husband, Kenny of Siler, Ginger Bryant and husband, Pete of Williamsburg, and Catrina Hicks and husband, Mike of Newcomb, Tennessee; his grandparents, Geneva Henson of Powell Valley, Tennessee and Frances Irene Lambdin and L.X. of Williamsburg; his great-grandmother, Opal Owens of Ft. Thomas; his step-grandmother, Margaret Opal Thacker of Rockholds; six nephews, Seth Powers, Joshua Powers, Pete Bryant, Michael Hicks II, Brian Hicks, Derek Hicks, Harold Scott Smith, and Skyler Wilson; also several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends to mourn his passing. Croley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Ora Verlin Anders, 77, Lexington, husband of Betty Ohler Anders, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2002 at the Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Lester and Ruby Davis Anders. He attended the University of Kentucky and Jefferson Community College. He was a World War II veteran, an original member of OSS, Group 202, serving in China, Burma, and India Theatre. He spent 41 years in the insurance business as a certified life underwriter, office manager, policyholders service and later as a sales representative for American National Insurance Company. He was a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and trustee. In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by one son, Mark Anders and his wife, Sandra, of Nicholasville; one daughter, Mary Ellen Robertson and her husband, Scott of Lexington; one grandson, Luke Robertson; twin granddaughters, Jamie and Megan Robertson, Lexington; one sister, Mayron Wyatt and her husband, Lee Roy, Moore, Oklahoma; five nephews, Craig Anders of Olympia, Washington, Rocky Sowder, Scott Thurmond and Marc Thurmond of Moore, Oklahoma, and Travis Anders of Nevada; and one aunt, Lydia Anders of Corbin. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Marvin Anders. Funeral services were held Monday, September 9 at the Southern Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. Gary J. Grogan and Chaplain Tony Stinnett. Following local visitation at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, burial was in the Corinth Cemetery, Cumberland Falls Highway. Pallbearers were the deacons of Southern Heights Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Go-Getters Sunday School Class. Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements. Della Hazel Hightower, 56, Aurora, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Monday, September 2, 2002. Funeral services were held September 5 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial followed in the Dowis Chapel Cemetery by Hart Funeral Home. Virgil Eugene Carr, Jr., 31, Newcomb, Tennessee passed away Friday, September 6, 2002 at his home. Funeral services were held September 10 at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Ballard officiating. Burial was in the Brummett Cemetery by the Harp Funeral Home. Charles Wayne Wesley, 65, Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati. His wife, Dean Smallwood Wesley, survives. Graveside services were held September 5 at the Brown Cemetery at Woodbine with Matt Smallwood officiating. Burial was in the Brown Cemetery by Hart Funeral Home. Mary Vola Robertson, 82, formerly of Corbin, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2002 in San Diego, California. She was the widow of James F. Robertson, formerly of Corbin. Funeral arrangements will be announced by O'Neil Funeral Home. Isaiah Malachi Henderson Mason, 7 months, Corbin, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2002. Graveside services were held September 1 at the E.L. Jones Family Cemetery with Rev. Steve Mayle officiating. Hart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Barbara Ford, 62, Rockholds, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2002 at her home. Her son, Dennis Allan Ford of Rockholds survives. Funeral services were private. Croley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Phebia Baird Bowlin, 97, formerly of Jellico, passed away Friday, August 30, 2002 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the widow of Francis Marion "Trant" Bowlin. Funeral services were held September 4 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Napier and Rev. Johnny Douglas officiating.
