First, there is James Jones married to a Mary E. Hall July 7, 1857 in Floyd Co. Ky, (interesting because the date matches with the age of birth of James oldest daughter mentioned in the 1870 Knox co census) 1870 census records from Knox Co Kinfolk published in 1983 and per microfilmed record that has this info: 175-2-2 Knox county, page 452, Barbourville PO James Jones 65 maybe Ind.? All other records found on James Jones indicate he was born in PA.& that parents were of German descent. Mary 12 KY Abraham 10 KY James 8 KY Jane 3 KY Lydia 1 KY Yancy May (Male) 10 KY "Blind" no wife listed in the 1870 census, and the children are in the household. 1880 Knox 336-338 Jones, James 75 PA G G; (This census clearly states that James was born in Pennsylvania , Father born in Germany, Mother born in Germany.)
