Taylor married Seley Tinsley in 1836 in Harlan County, it has been listed that this is William Riley. I believe that is a mistake, William Riley would have only been 16 at the time of this marriage. also in the 1840 Harlan census Jesse Taylor is listed with all nine of his children. If you check the 1840 Knox county Census you will find a William Taylor listed he has three son under the age of 5. This fits with the age of the sons of William R. Taylor in the 1850 census. I Believe that Seley is the daughter of William Tinsley, and that William is the son of David Taylor. I have no proof of this except the census. Here is what I have 1810 Knox David Taylor William Tinsley 1820 Harlan David Taylor William Tinsley 1830 Harlan David Taylor William Tinsley(one female age 10-15 Listed) 1840 Knox David Taylor William Taylor (three males under 5 listed) William Tinsely 1850 Knox Both David and William are listed. Hope this helps, I have been trying for some time now to proof that William Riley was not married to Sely Tinsley. Pat
