    3. While in Barbourbille last summer I went by the Knox Historical Society hunting for old Marriage records. I had read in a post to this list, about a year earlier, that all of the early Knox County records had been trashed. The Historical Society does have an index of those early records that they compiled from the original marriage books. The Kentucky Archives in Frankfort does have the LDS microfilms that were made many years ago. However, those records are incomplete as many of the records were damaged by flood, fire and poor handling. The last time I was in Frankfort was three years ago, and I wasn't searching Knox County at the time, but do remember that Knox records were available. One other thing to keep in mind is that the marriage is usually, not always, recorded in the county of the bride and not the groom. That's because the marriage is recorded in the county where it happened, and that is normally the home or local church of the bride.
