RESPONSE: John BINGHAM, s/o John had a son, Samuel BINGHAM, b. 1818 in Knox Co.; mar. lst June 13, 1838 in Knox to Mary Ann BINGHAM, b. 1820 Harlan Co. (who was the dau. of William BINGHAM and Sarah/Sallie GREEN who died aft. 1880 and he married Elizabeth BROWN (said to be a dau. of Will and Cassandra BROWN and a sister to the Steve BROWN who mar. Samuel's sister, Thursa Ann BINGHAM. Cassy, it was Samuel's sister, Nancy BINGHAM who married Brice WALKER (son of John WALKER). Tradition says he was a very hot tempered man (weren't they all) and that he and Brice WALKER were drinking moonshine and got into a big argument and Samuel BINGHAM hit Brice WALKER over the head with a railing. He was said never to have been 'right' again and eventually died. They (Samuel and his wife) were related. John and William were brothers.
