Ambrose and Mary B. had a Child (My Grandmother) Lillian Wanita Baker, b.March 15, 1900 and died 1942. Lillian married a James Elbert Payne,b. Dec.2,1889 and died around 1933.James elbert is the son of Silas Payne and Martha Hawn. There was also another child after Lillian, her sister Minnie Baker. She was born two years after Lillian. Things are a bit confusing, since Mary B. Gray,Baker,Townsley had a few children. She had George Gray before any marriage to Ambrose. After Ambrose she married a Ebb Townsley and had two sons: Dee and William Townsley. Mary B. Died on June 24, 1915, in Whitley county. On the death information it lists her as 28 years of age, which actually she was 38. I am not sure why Ambrose is listed as Widow, since mary did not die until much later (1915). I am also trying to find out where Mary B. and Ambrose could be buried! Not having much luck there! I did find out that Marys brother Flemming Gray is buried in Gray's Cemetary, but is listed as birth in 1877, which should be 1875. There father Thomas J. Gray is suspose to be buried in Spurlock. Not real sure about that one either! Hoping to look things up in May, when I travel thru Knox County! thanks Yvonna ysamie2001@yahoo.com
