Joeseph is actually who I am doing this research for, he is my uncle and he's turning 75 this year, as you can tell from the census. I have been researching my lines, which includes my aunts, and can tell he would love to find more information about his family, since he doesn't know too much about them. I am still trying to catch up and keep everything straight. Where have you found the Messer's in Missouri, is it only Ray and St. Louis? The reason I am asking is because you mentioned before that there was no marriage record in Knox County for Gorden and Celia. Then I have found information on Rootsweb that Celia's father Joseph supposedly died in Smithton Missouri. in 1895. Since you have that Edward moved to Missouri before 1880 and it appears that Joseph Baker did also, I am wondering if the families could have moved together and then Gorden and Celia moved back to Knox County Ky after they were married. I checked the LDS 1880 index for Joseph but could not find him in Ky or Mo, so I don't know how they have his name spelled. But did find possibly Joseph's son John Baker living in Henry County Missouri in 1880. The site on rootsweb states that Joseph was buried in a plot owned by his son John E. Baker, that is where I came up with the sons name. I'm just sort of thinking out loud about this. Jean
