I have a suspicion that this James GAMBREL is in some way connected to the dau's of William "Bill" GAMBREL & Emily SMITH GAMBREL who had among several others, America and Amanda and Drucilla GAMBREL - - all of whom had children outside of marriage. America had Lincoln GAMBREL, b. abt. March 1867 who later married Abigail GOODMAN. Amanda had 'a' Anthony GAMBREL, b. Nov. 24, 1866 who mar. Mary HAMMONS.
