Thank you, Lois, for the interest indicator. Isn't it great that, some two hundred years after an event, people continue to hold an interest in that event, especially a patriotic event such as a National battle. I would have loved to visit Fort Meigs this year but God has different plans for me. Hopefully, HE will get the cancer settled down and I can make another trip later. The first two trips were very pleasant. We live in Florida but our son, and I, try to make annual trips "home". (I say that having never lived in Kentucky but knowing Kentucky is "home". Thanks again, and keep the faith. We live in a beautiful country. Perhaps you aren't close enough to visit. I've never been able to go, but would love to one day. As you know it's located there at Perrysburg, OH. Well, right after the war the stockade walls were torn down and the settlers used the timbers to build their houses. During my years in Real Estate I had the privilege to be in one of those houses. That fact always amazed me. Then when I retired from Real Estate I started my genealogy. Finding my Benjamin McKeehan had been here in my area was definitely a pleasant surprise. Proud of my ancestors and what they did to further the Freedom we all enjoy today. It's good for those visiting Ft Meigs to learn so many KY men answered the call...Lois . A large number of people paid tribute, today, by taking time to visit my War of 1812 webpage. It shows considerable respect to those who make daily sacrifices on our behalf......not only in the military but as civil servants and the like. Let us never forget. Regards, Bob Walker
