I am specifically trying to find direct male descendants from the following WILDER lines: Sampson WILDER (m. Ann ESTEP) Reason WILDER (m. Margaret JACKSON) Joseph WILDER (m. Sarah SAYLOR) A few years ago, I developed a THEORY regarding Joseph “Good Old Joe” WILDER (1758-1865) and Nancy (Last Name Unknown) being the parents of Sampson, Reason, Joseph, Rhoda, and Fanny….what I refer to as the Harlan County WILDERs. To my knowledge, there has been no documentation found proving this theory one way or the other. Since we have Joseph WILDER (1758-1865) baselined with two DNA participants, now would be a good time to test one of the lines mentioned above. If you know of someone who is a direct male descendant from one of the above lines that would be willing to participate in the WILDER DNA Project, please contact me.
