RESPONSE: Thank you, Bob. For you WALKERs and TAYLORS out there, John WALKER and Christopher WALKER, sons of the elder John WALKER of Knox Co., KY were in the War of 1812. My gg-grandfather, Cornelius Alexander TAYLOR served in the War of 1812. He later married Sarah Ann WALKER, dau. of Walter WALKER who was a brother to the older John WALKER of Knox Co. There were a number of other Knox Co. residents who also served in the War of 1812. Remember the next time you stand and sing "The Star Spangled Banner" by Frances Scott Keye that this song was a War of 1812 song. I think it is often confused with the Rev. War. A "salute" to our veterans everywhere!
