I found out that the Brackett's and Messer's were related through my research . My Grandmother's sister (Nina Beatrice Scott) married a Messer (William Otis Messer) , although she lied on her marriage bond as to who her real parents were . My Great-grandmother's maiden name was Brackett (Sarah F. Brackett) who married Franklin Daniel Scott . I don't understand why people married their relatives back then . Rose H.
