    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: yates yeates Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CBB.2ACE/5894 Message Board Post: Hi there, My name is Sam Yeates and I have recently received my paternal line,Y-chromosome STR results, from Relative Genetics. Since the Yates spelling is used more often than not is legal documents and records I wouldn't be surprised I have more relatives with that spelling than my own. The records and research point to my family coming out of North Carolina in the early 1800's and into the Franklin county area of Tennessee and Jackson county, Alabama. Is there a data base available to campare genetic results with other lines of the Yates family? If so, I would appreciate the contact information. Thank you, Sam

    3. Sam: You can upload your results to both the YSearch and the YBase databases: http://www.ysearch.org/ http://www.ybase.org/ Then you can search by haplotype or by surname. A website for YATES is here: http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/y/yates/ Good Luck! Steven C.
