Pauline was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to helping others. Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents, Boger E. and Lovie Jones Smith; 10 brothers, Freelin, Emmitt, Earl, Ernest, Arlic, Eddie, Edgar, Luther, Samuel and Lester Smith; one sister, Verdie Smith Donelson; her husband, Anderson "Coles" Richardson; one son, James E. Richardson; one grandson, Chris J. Richardson; one great-granddaughter, Hannah J. Richardson. Survivors include six grandsons, James E. Richardson, Anderson Cole Richardson, Hugh Dean Richardson, Mark K. Richardson, Matthew E. Richardson, and Arlie B. Richardson; two granddaughters, Jane P. Richardson-Kobus and Diana Richardson Gates; 11 great-grandchildren, Julia, Kyle, Natalie, Austin, Sarah, Alexander, Mark, Tyler, Luke, Ivy and Brian; one sister, Rissie Smith Compton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were conducted at noon Saturday, Feb. 28 in the chapel of Gilliam Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap with Pastor Gerald Compton officiating. Burial followed in American Legion Cemetery, Big Stone Gap.
