But here's what's weird: The Ancestry.com database failed to alert me to Alric Smith until after I'd entered your info. Obviously, I didn't have his date-of-death until I got it from you but I'd queried the SSDI database multiple times for an Alric Smith who died Knox Co. KY during the early 70's and it found nothing. I've found lots of SSDI records before without having the exact date-of-death but, for some reason, this time nothing. I even knew the approximate year. I last saw uncle Alric in 1969 when I was a little boy and I knew he was dead by 1973. I just don't understand why I was unable to retrieve his SSDI record. His wife Anna Mae Christian-Smith may be more difficult because she died, I believe, in the late 50s and the SSDI index is less complete in that time frame. Uncle Al had to raise the boys pretty much by himself and he never remarried. Okay, I know, I'm rambling--sorry. But I want to thank you for your assistance.
