JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON SHIRLEY POPE-JONES FROM THE DAYTON (OH) DAILY NEWS 12/17/07 Shirley M. Love Pope-Jones, age 84, of Dayton, OH passed away December 13, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. A native of Barbourville, KY and a Dayton resident for over 50 years. She was a former employee of the State of Ohio and the Dayton Public School System. Preceded in death by her parents, Chester & Emma Love; husbands, Archie Pope, Garnett Jones; son, Earnest Pope; brother, Winford Love. Survivors include her devoted son, Allen (Ruby) Pope; grandson, Michael (Lashelle) Pope; stepson, Jerry (Barbara) Gilbert; grandchildren, Evan & Erin Pope; sister, Ruby Sims-Hardy; devoted nephews, Brice (Mary) Sims, Gregory (Valerie) Love, Ronald Garnes; sisters-in-law, Vauda Love, Viva Pope; devoted, Laura Stewart; other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am December 18, 2007 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Avenue. Rev. Timothy D. Newkirk officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation 9 am at the church until the time of service. F! amily will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 North Gettysburg Avenue. The family extends gratitude to the Shiloh Springs Nursing Center Staff.
