JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON ALFRED POWERS FROM THE HAMILTON (OH) JOURNAL-NEWS 11/15/07 Alfred Glen Powers, Age 77, of London, KY, died October 24, 2007, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born February 5, 1930, in Knox County, KY, the son of the late George and Cynthia Perkins Powers. Survivors include two children, Danny Powers (Lori) of Fairfield, OH, and Charlene Hammack (Dennis) of London, KY, four siblings, Ray Powers and Cleta Lane of Detroit, MI, Elmer Powers of Barbourville, KY, and June Miller of Cincinnati, OH, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Whitson Powers and siblings, Stanley and Reed Powers, Myrtle Whitson, Bertha Fox, Estle Alcorn and Ethel Ledger. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, a member of Wood Creek Baptist Church and a retired foreman for Messer Construction Co. Funeral services were conducted on October 27, 2007, at Bowling Funeral Home in London, KY, with Brandon and Jason Hammack officiating.
