Author: ShermanGibbs524 Surnames: Cummins, Golden Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.knox/9300/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In 1850 Elizabeth Cummins Golden was 42; in 1860, she was 50; in 1870 she was 60, and in 1880, she iwas 72 per Knox County censuses..In 1840, she was born between 1810 and 1820. She married James Golden in 1832. Some researchers have her born 1819. Could all of the above(1850, 1860,1870, 1880)censuses be wrong? The only person with a child that could possibly be her in 1830 seems to be William Cummins. Some have her as daughter of James Cummins, yet his only daughter in the 1830 census was born between 1820 and 1830. I know census data is not 100% accurate, but the preponderance of five different census reports would tend to point to a birth of about 1809 for Ellizabeth Cummins Golden...which also aligns itself with the 1810 Knox County report for William Cummins, who had a daughter under age 10 in that census.
