My computer seems to be working okay now so I will begin responding to the messages I received about Robert H. Lewis and family. Joyce, thank you for checking the marriage records looking for Robert H. Lewis and Elizabeth Logan. I don't know if there is any possibility of them being married in a different county. I have learned in recent years that Robert H. Lewis is a son of Robert Lewis and Elizabeth Farris and that Elizabeth is a daughter of Isham (Isom) Farris and Elizabeth Yancey. I don't know is that might place the marriage in a different location or not -- probably not. You mention that the printed 1850 census indicates Robert H.'s wife was Elizabeth Durham. I believe that to be an error that only helps confuse things. My first genealogy material on these ancestors came to me from an uncle many years ago. He gave me the name of Elizabeth Logan and that seemed to be okay because there are many connections between the Logan, Lewis and Owen families in Kentucky and in Missouri in later generations. Trying to prove it has turned out to be more difficult. I have quite a bit of Logan information but still need to determine who were the parents of Elizabeth. As to the other marriages that seem to be Robert H., I have learned about those over the years as I've worked on genealogy but I have no answer yet as to whether these are him or not. Believe you mentioned something else about them in another message and I'll look at it again before I write more. In looking at the S.E. Laurel County cemetery book again this weekend I did find the Old Union Cemetery with burials of interest -- There is a Marinda Lewis (not sure who she is yet), Isom and Elizabeth Faris (grandparents of Robert H. maybe), and William M. Lewis (Robert H.'s son born in 1828, died 1853). If I've assumed things that aren't correct, I'd really appreciate your turning me in the right direction. Thanks for all your help.
