RESPONSE: Adding to my original response, here is the 1870 Laurel Co., KY Fed. Census: Dwelling 33 LEWIS, Robert H., 68, b. KY - farmer . .George M., 17, b. KY . .Robert G., 4, b. KY LEWIS, Jesse, 22, b. KY - farmer . .Martha A., 22, b. KY - keeping house . . Wm. H., one month, b. KY (b. May) If this is the same Robert H. LEWIS who remarried to a Jemima COLDWELL in 1863 in Laurel Co., something happened to her. I have no way of knowing; however, if this little Robert G., age 4 is from that marriage. Then a little later on, there is this marriage but with just the initials, I have no way to know if this again is Robert H.: LEWIS, R. H. to WIGGINS, Mary Ann on April 13, 1871 in Laurel Co., KY NOTE: Perhaps if you order the actual marriage records you could confirm or rule out if these are all the same person. Oh, now I am looking at the 1880 Laurel Co. Fed. Census. This is interesting. Dwelling 43 LEWIS, George, 27, b. KY; parents b. KY (b. 10-18-1852 in Laurel) . .Rachel M. (nee WIGGINS), wife, 24, b. KY; parents b. KY (mar. 1-31-1872 in Laurel) . . Robert, B (for BROTHER)., 14, b. KY; parents b. KY LEWIS, Mary LOGAN, "mother", 54, widow - married to Robert LEWIS. NOTE: I guess I do not quite understand why this Mary LOGAN LEWIS, age 54 would just be showing up and be listed as the mother of George, head of house, in this dwelling.
